2006 TERRACE SELECT
DRY CREEK VALLEY

Tasting Notes: Hand selected each year from the terraced hillside vineyard just south of the winery.  The grapes are hand picked and carefully sorted, then fermented 21 days in a small open top tank with manual punch downs every five hours. After fermentation they are pressed lightly into new French oak barrels.

This limited reserve wine showcases our grape growing style, with a focused and riveting personality keyed on deep compelling and wonderfully concentrated black currant fruit.  This fruit is framed with complementary oak and accented with touches of cocoa and coffee. The firm and tailored structural tannins tell you it should be laid away for at least a decade, although this wine wouldn’t surprise us if it is alive and going strong after two decades.
